With COVID-19’s current designation as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, as well as recent federal, state, and university regulations banning large gatherings and travel, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Innovation Summit scheduled for May 13th – 14th, 2020 in Austin, TX.
While the decision to cancel this event was not made lightly, we hold the health and safety of our attendees, presenters, and staff as the most important consideration. We are currently looking into options for rescheduling the Innovation Summit for a later date once the COVID-19 situation has been resolved. We will share this information as soon as we have more details.
Thank you for your support and understanding. If you have any questions, please contact us directly at iTP3@tamu.edu or saxelson@powertodecide.org.

WORKSHOPS
How to Identify and Investigate Systems Level Problems
Led by Whitney Garney from Texas A&M University • iTP3
This workshop will introduce systems thinking principals to participants and teach them to diagnosis systems-level problems. It will examine examples from the field by describing past community-based projects that used systems thinking to develop programs and plan priorities, then facilitate a systems mapping technique that will equip participants with the skills needed to start identifying and investigating systems-level problems in their communities.
Equity in Design 2.0
Led by Tania Anaissie • Beytna Design
Innovation Strengths Preference Indicator® (ISPI™): Understand and leverage your innovation talents
Led by Andrew Harrison • Bonfire Consulting
To be as successful as possible, you need to understand the people dynamics of innovation. This starts by learning what you are naturally strong at when it comes to work style, communication preferences and decision making. The next step is to better understand others and how they prefer to innovate. Combining these two pieces of the innovation puzzle will help you navigate your personal, team and organizational development.
Workshop participants will receive a link to complete the Innovation Strengths Preference Indicator® (ISPI™) prior to the workshop. This questionnaire takes approximately 15 – 20 minutes to complete. During the session, each participant will receive a copy of their individual, personalized results, as well as learn how to apply the tool to their work and home organization.
Walk away with:
- A better understanding of different types of innovation and different types of innovators
- Insight into your personal innovation preferences, strengths and potential blind spots
- Learning on how innovation preferences impact teams and organizations
- Ways to build more effective teams
- How to apply your personal preferences to leading others
